The fell Wainwright climbed first, with a famous panorama over Windermere and the high fells. A short, steep pull from the village, with a viewpoint plaque quoting Wainwright himself.

The parish church of Windermere, about 1,600 feet east of Beckside. Worth a look for its Arts and Crafts interior.
The Museum of Boats, Steam and Stories sits on Rayrigg Road, a short walk from Beckside. Boats, steam launches and lake history under one roof.
